Minus One. (#85-91)

A note from the author:

“Whoa! What is this? Why did the comic suddenly jump to the present day?! Wait, and all those comics were taking place a year ago?”

I hadn’t originally planned the comic this way– it was supposed to be linear, from the start of Max’s story to the end! However, my comic was going to be implemented into the study (you know, the real-life one where people are actually using this cell phone app) when the participants were already a year in. Therefore, my boss wanted me to start the story when Max is already a year in, so people could relate better. I still wanted to have the stuff from when he started using the app, though, and somehow how to integrate this in. And thus, the time jumping. I know it’s a bit confusing in the first couple of weeks, and I apologize! From here on out time shall proceed normally.

  1. I see what you did there. Nice. Okay, just yesterday, wait…well, October 22. Yes, that’s when it happened. Do you know what happened in the evening two days ago. If you said the final presidential debate then you are right. Ah, politics, aren’t they so interesting. I feel like watching the debate made me a better person. OH…. WAIT…. I COULDN’T CARE LESS ABOUT THOSE SNOT-NOSED, DISGRACEFUL BASTARDS!!!
Note: Please do not take anything said here seriously; everything is said in a jokingly manner.

NO! YESTERDAY WAS THE DAY THAT I FINALLY WATCHED THE EPISODE OF ONE PIECE IN WHICH ROBIN SAID, “I WANT TO LIVE!”

Yes, and what a crazy episode it was. Seeing Kuzan/Aokiji actually help Robin, after a different vice admiral destroyed the “safe” ship that was leaving Ohara. Former Vice Admiral Saulo, a giant, helping Nico Olivia and Robin, and an already corrupt Admiral Sengoku and Gorosei. Also, hearing that there was a nation that was able to threaten the world, that their enemies had destroyed them. And a year later, the World Government was created. EIICHIRO ODA IS A GENIUS!!

    • THAT IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE! I watched that moment SO MANY TIMES. One of the many things I love about One Piece is the crazy dark subplot Oda’s got going about the World Government. I can’t wait to find out the full story! (Though there will probably be another decade of the Straw Hat Pirate’s adventures before we even come close to finding out 😛 )

      • I KNOW, RIGHT!!! I don’t know where I read it, but something on the always honest internet said that The Paramount War marked the end of the first half of the series. However, it does make sense since the Strawhats are now in the New World (the second half of the Grand Line). But if that is true, then One Piece would have about another 15 YEARS!!! THAT’S INSANE!! I have never heard of a comic book series with a continuing storyline to run for 30 years.
Note: by continuing storyline, I mean, chapters that are directly related to previous chapters. That means that Spider-man and Batman and ect. would not count.

        • No, I know what you mean!! When they FINALLY got to the New World, I thought: “Halfway around the world… another 10 years to go??”
And the thing is, Eiichiro Oda said that he doesn’t want One Piece to be his only series. I LOVE One Piece and will be in tears when it ends, but I would love to see what else Oda can come up with!

          • The “Earth” of One Piece is definitely larger than ours and it will be very interesting to see Oda come up with some else. You may already know this: Eiichiro Oda has already come up with his ending to One Piece, which is crazy, but of course we have to wait years to see it flashily end!
